The Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting has settled out of court over a damages claim involving a fake website. In December Ponting filed a suit in the Federal Court in Australia under the Trade Practices Act over a website, since shut down, purporting to be his official site.The suit was against Kevin Leonard Consulting Pty Ltd, a Victorian company that owned the domain name rickyponting.com.au, claiming the site amounted to deceptive and misleading conduct. Ponting’s lawyers informed the judge on Friday the matter had been resolved outside court.
