The Landrush period goes from 20th February to 12th March!
The registry offers to the registrars a special discount for all applications submitted during the first day of the Landrush. This is the reason why some registrar are able to offer very aggressive prices. (see post of .asia for 4.-Euro)
It is NOT a “first come first serve” Landrush. No domain will be assigned by the registry till the end of the Landrush. The registry will accept more than one application per domain.
All domains that have been applied more than once (where at least two persons applied for the same name) will trigger an auction. The auction starts (after the landrush period) between the persons who applied for the domain (no open auction). All persons whose domain(s) enter in an auction process will be informed and will be able to see who they are bidding against.
Auctions will be handled via Pool.com or Registrars like EuroDNS/AsiaDNS that integrated the auction process in the customer accounts.
All domain names that only got one application during the Landrush will be registered to the registrant without any auction at the end of the Landrush period.
This means that everybody should submit its lists now and not wait for the “Golive” Period, as all good names will go during this landrush period.
The GoLive period starts on the 26th march and this period means that all applications aer send on the fly to the registry that allocates immediately the name to the registrant.
All domain must be at least 3 characters long and all 3 number domains are restricted for now. The registry will open the 3 number domains later.
Valid Characters for Domain Names .ASIA domains can contain the English-language letters A through Z, the digits 0 through 9 and hyphens (LDH — Letters, Digits, Hyphens).

Hyphens however cannot be used for the first or last character of the second level domain name. Spaces and special characters (such as !, $, &, ë, and so on) are not currently acceptable. The
minimum length allowed for a second level .ASIA domain is effectively 3 characters .
The maximum umber of LDH characters accepted for a second level domain is 63 (i.e. excluding the “http://www” and “.asia” portions). The .ASIA Registry is not currently offering IDN (Internationalized Domain Name) registration capabilities. As a precautionary measure, and in compliance with the ICANN Registry Operator agreement, registration for domains containing the character sequence “–” at the third and fourth character positions of an LDH (letters digits hyphens) domain will not be allowed unless
corresponding policies have been established and such provision is explicitly released.
