Re: What is good for VPS? I’ve got a support ticket open but it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere so I thought I’d give a try here.I have a Squirrelmail install (been there for 2-1/2 years) outisde the standard CPanel install. It’s been running fine and there have been no changes to it or to the server in ages. Everything’s been smooth.Yesterday I got server alert emails that a bunch of processes failed (ftpd, cpsrvd, eximstats, pop) and were restarted. My users generally don’t access on Sundays so I don’t know if it’s related or not, but as of this morning my users cannot SEND mail using my Squirrelmail interface. POP access is fine with all accounts, but Squirrelmail dies on SMTP with the following error:Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to localhost:25 (Connection refused) in /home/stj/public_html/mail/class/deliver/Deliver_SMTP.class.php on line 59The offending code in and around line 59 is:if (($use_smtp_tls == true) and (check_php_version(4,3)) and (extension_loaded(‘openssl’))) {$stream = fsockopen(‘tls://’ . $host, $port, $errorNumber, $errorString);} else {$stream = fsockopen($host, $port, $errorNumber, $errorString);}Again, absolutely nothing has been changed on my Squirrelmail install, or server settings, and everything was working fine as late as Saturday afternoon. The help desk has restarted, I have restarted — no joy, however, I’ve been sent screenshots showing successful email SMTP sends using the Horde & Squirrelmail CPanel installs — I know those work. But what could have suddenly gone wrong on my own Squirrelmail? I’ve googled my error text and came up with thousands of possibilities but nothing that look applicable at first glance.Any thoughts on where to look for the trouble?
