The competition will run until December 31 2010, and the lucky winner will be given a licence to use the name FREE OF CHARGE for two years.The rules are simple: just tell us in less than 200 words why your company or online business would benefit from having this unique domain. Once that’s done, your entry will appear on our site. visitors will be able to decide if it merits a vote up or a vote down. The entry which has the highest vote by December 31 will be judged the winner. licence?Using the correct terminology. Americans usually use license (with an “s”) not licence (with a “c”). All domains are licensed via a Registrar with the appropriate Registry. The domain is not “owned”. The domain “owner” is the registrant for that domain. If you buy an existing or aftermarket domain you are buying the registration from the current registrant. The registration is transferred. Some Domain “owners” are now “leasing”. The correct terminology is licensing (licensing), renting or hiring. We call it let domains. That covers everything from licensing hiring, renting and letting. If you are letting or renting a domain it is a licence (or sub-licence). You can only give what you have and a licence gives you permission or right to use or do something.
