From August 13 2009, BBC China will be renamed "英伦网." The domain name will be changed to bbcukchina.com, and users will be able to enjoy a revamped website layout. Speaking about the name change and the revision, BBC Chinese Director Li Wen said that on the one hand they were changed in order to better reflect the website’s contents and services, and on the other hand to reflect the website’s adjustment in market development strategy. In addition to users in the Chinese mainland, it is hoped that the website will be able to tap in to the overseas Chinese market in the future. The website was founded in January 2006 and was specifically designed for English language learning enthusiasts, young people interested in further studies in the UK and users interested in UK society. It provides the latest information on UK education, lifestyle, entertainment, English Premier League football, English teaching, and studying in the UK.
