The Domains has highlighted an interesting issue with .COM domain names, noting the financial publication Barrons has claimed share prices for VeriSign have underperformed compared to the rest of the stock market putting “the blame squarely on the decision Court of Appeals of in the case of CFIT vs. VeriSign.”
The result of the court case could, as a worst case scenario, see VeriSign having to rebid for the contract to manage the .COM registry with wholesale prices falling to around US$4 per domain.
