Twitter has recently filed a complaint with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center,asserting legal rights over the disputed domain name Twiter.com . According to whois records,Twiter.com was first registered in 2004,about 2 years before Twitter.com was launched.However,there were more than one registrant over the years .Twiter.com resolved to a Twitter similar looking site.Currently the website tries to obtain personal information .Twitter owns many trademark registrations for the "twitter" mark. Therefore,it is more than obvious that the disputed domain name is confusingly similar to its website .
The case is still waiting compliance checks with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center .
