On December 16, .SE releases reserved geographic domain names. When .SE began applying the new and more liberal rules for domain registrations in 2003, the board of directors decided to put a bar on certain geographical names for a period of five years. Thereafter, the board of directors would re-evaluate the decision. In May 2008, .SE’s board of directors decided to cancel the bar on the approximately 4 000 .se domain names.
