The Coordination Center for TLD .RU,responsible for the administration of the .RU extension,has reached the 3.9 million active registrations.
.RU takes the 6th position in the global ranking of CCTLDs worldwide and make .RU a leader in terms of growth rates among the biggest CCTLDs .
Last year .RU got a little brother , IDN TLD .РФ. From then on the Internet in Russia started growing twice as fast: by approximately 1,000-1,500 new domain names daily in each domain zone.
The 3rd million .ru domain name was registered on the night of 24/25 September 2010 .
