According to BaseballAmerica.com,the Major League Baseball has acquired the domain name Rockies.com for $1,2 million from Tourism Candian Rockies .
This was the largest sale ever for a sport-related domain name.The sale was brokered by Venture Capital Group,which put the domain name up for sale in September ,2012.The company expected to sell the domain name for between $200,000 and $400,000 .
The most recent domain name acquired by the Major Leagur Baseball is Angels.com,acquired in 2010 for $200,000.
