An arbitrator with the National Arbitration Forum has awarded Google Googla.com and Googleim.com domain names.The company submitted a complaint with the National Arbitration Forum on January 4,2012 ,asserting legal rights over the domain names. Google owns many trademark registrations for the "Google" mark all over the world.Therefore,it is more than obvious that the disputed domain names are confusingly similar to its trademark.The company contended in the complaint that the respondent registered and used the disputed domain names in bad faith,and,moreover,managed to demonstrate it:"Respondent is using both of the Domain Names in an effort to gain commercially from Complainant’s mark. Respondent uses the domain name in order to receive affiliate or other fees for redirecting Internet users to an unrelated third-party website that offers domain names for sale. Second, as stated above, Respondent is using the domain name to resolve to a website nearly identical to Complainant’s website."The Panel ordered the disputed domains to be transferred from the respondent to the complainant.
