Google makes 6 Figure Offer for KNOL.com

AMSTERDAM – For a vacuum cleaner reseller from Dordrecht in the Netherlands, Europe, this week may very well be the time of their life!. The family Knol have been the owner of the domain name knol.com for many years and it looks like Google is interested in purchasing the domain! Google has reportedly offered "a sum of five zeros." That is what owner Hilco Knol reported in the AD on Thursday. The entrepreneur did not accept the offer and said that "It would only be interesting if Google made an offer with six zeros, because the Dutch tax rate of 52 percent would leave too little on the table. An offer in the million Euro range would make things a bot more fun. "
Recently it became known that Google is launching an online encyclopedia, similar to Wikipedia, which is why they are interested in the www.knol.com domain. On http://knol.google.com, authoritative articles will be posted as well.
The main problem facing vacuum cleaner reseller Knol is that www.Knol.com is plastered on all their brochures and advertising campaigns, inhouse literature and paperwork. Changing that would be "a very expensive issue", according to the owner who is seeking higher level of compensation from Google.
