An arbitrator with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center has awarded the domain name Facebook.info domain name to Facebook.
Facebook owns many trademark registrations for the "Facebook" mark all over the world.Therefore,it was more than obvious that the disputed domain name was confusingly similar to its trademark.Facebook has also managed to demonstrate that the respondent hasn’t rights over the domain name and that he registered and used the disputed domain name in bad faith.According to the whois records,the respondent registered the disputed domain name in 2004.Moreover,the domain name redirects to a page that states on the top : "not in any way affiliated with the social network available at Facebook.com”
The Panel ordered the disputed domain name to be transferred from the respondent to the complainant.
