According to Eurid,the registry who manages the .eu top-level Internet domain name,the .eu domain name register has passed the 3.6 million mark.
Sine the .EU extension was launched in 2006,it has grown to become one of the top ten TLDs in Europe.
Eurid revealed continued growth in .eu domain name registrations over the last years.Healthy .eu registrations in Bulgaria, Estonia and Romania helped drive year over year growth, supported by renewal rates above the industry average, at 78%.
Full public registration started on 7 April,2006 .Half of the .eu domain names (1.7 million) were registered in April 2006,the first month f availability .This means that registration of .eu domain names have doubled in five years,making it one of the most popular TLDs in the world .
Eurid celebrated one a week ago its sixth anniversary of its launch.
