An increase of 6,5 percent in the first quarter of 2009,was registered in domain name sales.
As we all know , .com addresses represents the most popular generic top-level domain.The same thing demonstrated Sedo,which sold 9,326 domain names through its auction marketplace during this period.Because the number of domain names in the first quarter of 2009,the average auction price of a .com domain rose by £475 in the first three months of this year, while prices also rose for .org and .net domains.
Nora Nanayakkara,director of business development at Sedo suggested that "This is in part a result of businesses moving online to minimise overhead costs in challenging times and this trend may well balance the drops in other areas of the market".
