According to TorrentFreak.com,most of Demonoid domain names are now up for sale to the highest bidder via Sedo,world’s leading domain marketplace . Even though Demonoid’s users were expecting the site to return,after being shut down for facilitating the illegal distribution of music,it seems that the chances of that happening are close to zero.
Demonoid had a tremendous success among the Internet users worldwide and was one of the world’s largest torrent sites.However,after a DDoS attack ,that kept the site offline for a few days,and after a raid from the Interpol and the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI),the site was shut down .
IFPI’s anti-piracy director,Jeremy Banks explained the decision this way : "The operation to close Demonoid was a great example of international cooperation to tackle a service that was facilitating the illegal distribution of music on a vast scale. I would like to thank all those officers involved in this operation to close a business that was built on the abuse of other people’s rights.”
The three domain names that are now up for sale via Sedo are : Demonoid.me ,Demonoid.com and Demonoid.ph .
