.CM Sunrise period opens today,June 15th at 9:00 UTC.This period allows all trademark owners to register their brand name in the .CM extension .
.CM is the country top-level domain (ccTLD) for the Republic of Cameroon.This is a new opportunity for the trademark owners,being able to register their brand names in .CM extension.During the Sunrise period the minimum registration period is 2 years and everyone must have a valid trademark at the time of appication.Moreover,if there is more than one person to apply for the same domain name ,both having a valid trademark,the name will be given to the one who has the oldest registered trademark.As for the costs,each domain application costs 360 EUR .Then,on July 15th the registry will open the Landrush period.The price for each domain name application will be 260 EUR including a two years term.Xavier Buck, CEO of EuroDNS said “We are proud to be part of the launch of the .CM extension. Central Africa does not provide many domain name extensions and this is a great opportunity to expand one’s portfolio.
