Apple has recently submitted a complaint with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center over iTunes.net domain name.According to whois records the current registration dates to March 1,2004 and the owner seems to have bought iTunes.net domain name from BuyDomains in 2006. Apple should expect the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center order the domain name be transferred ,considering the company owns the Facebook trademark.The WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center will examine if the domain name is confusingly similar to the trademarked name. Moreover,it will examine if the owner of the iTunes.net domain name has rights over it and if the domain name is being used in bad faith.This domain name will be passed over to Apple if it falls under all three of these stipulations.
The case is still pending compliance checks with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
