Nominet announced that entries for the Nominet Internet Awards 2012 have opened.The deadline for entries is 12 April 2012 . These awards are open for any person or organization who wants to highlight their work online.Entrants are being reviewed by an independent panel of judges.There are six 2012 awards categories :The 2012 award categories are:Most innovative internet businessOnline training and educationProtecting users from crimes or online threatsCharitable or not-for-profit work onlineOnline public services & informationOutstanding contribution to the UK Internet"For the past five years, the Nominet Internet Awards have been showcasing the very best of the UK internet.The internet is sometimes blamed for some of society’s more negative elements, but it has such great potential to have a positive impact on the lives of everyone in the UK and beyond. We look forward to recognising those initiatives which help to make the internet a safe, accessible, and innovative environment for us all," said Lesley Cowley, CEO of Nominet.
