There has been a lot of controversy recently about the introduction of DomainTools’ registrant search tool, which allows anyone to obtain a list of all domains owned by a person or company.
In an effort to bring transparency to the controversial registrant search tool, DomainTools is now allowing you to order a free report of all the domains you own. Jay Westerdal, owner of DomainTools, explains: “If people can order a report on you, then you should have the right to know what they can possibly order.”
Mr Westerdal also points out that this report can help ensure that registrants don’t lose their domains, especially domains won at auctions and registered at unfamiliar registrars.

In recent months there has been an explosion of new blogs about domains and domaining to the point where it has become practically impossible to keep track of all of them. The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. “There were many highlights in a week topped by a $900,000 sale that ranks as the 11th highest deal reported so far in 2007. We also saw the year’s two highest .mobi sales completed (one at $150,000 and another at $145,000) as the new extension for mobile devices had its best outing yet putting a dozen names on our all-extension Top 40 sales list. The Country Codes had a good week too with an unlikely extension landing in the #1 position on the ccTLD chart”.

CHARLESTON, SC – The city of Santa Monica has leased the domain name IamSantaMonica.com from the Charleston based company WeAre, LLC d/b/a IamDomainNames.com. The Convention and Visitors Bureau plans to use the domain name as their educational tag line to promote business and tourism.
Since January 2006 an enlightened Stephen Webb has been acquiring Domain Names, all starting with I AM or WE ARE. The interesting thing is that these domain names are virgin domain names using a simple sentence. They are completely void of traffic.
Companies can start a new brand or a new marketing campaign using both traditional and digital media.
