Flights.com announced today that it has acquired the domain “Flights.eu” to further its expansion into the European travel market under German representative Reiseburo Buehler GmbH.
Flights.eu is hoping that they will eventually serve as a pan-European travel provider similar to that of Flights.com in the United States.
Joseph Herzig Director of Business Operations at Flights.com had this to say, “The .eu domain has been quite an undertaking for us since ICANN approved the new extension back in 2005… We are pleased that it has finally concluded and that we can now focus on expanding our European operations”. The company anticipates that Flights.eu will be up and running by year end. The domain was acquired from a private party for an undisclosed sum.
