With each country having its own trade mark system, the effect is the trademark system is territorial. So a brand name may be owned by one person in the United Kingdom and by another, totally unrelated, person in the United States. .SE (the Internet Infrastructure Foundation), responsible for the Internet country code top-level domain .se) has announced via a news release it is now possible to register domain names in all official minority languages, as stated by Swedish law. In addition to the minority languages Finnish, Meänkieli, Sami, Romani and Yiddish, it will be possible to use the special characters of all the other Nordic countries, i.e. Danish, Norwegian, Faroe and Icelandic, in .se domains.
